Socrates, orginally from Dallas, TX moved to New York city 5 years ago with the motivation to expand his musical and fashion expression. As an inspiring artist from the mental state of mind, Soc used multiple influences for his music creation from pounding books on tables, grasping all horn chorus in nyc subways, mentoring orchestra pieces from Jon Brion, to studying new age artist such as Kanye West, Radiohead, Kenna, Pharrel, Rick Ross all the way back to Air Supply, Beatles, Harold Melvin and the list goes on. Not only did Soc take his time with this album, he has decided to release this creative work for FREE to the public. After releasing his first solo produced album for native TX artist N.E.T. in 2001 solely in Japan, he quickly emerged into the international scene and wordly approach to music. Being from the South, his roots stemmed back to his mother who is a trained pianist. Although he has a southern upbringing, he has been able to travel frequently taking bits and pieces of all music forms to help him create his own style which has branded as Pop Art. Originally he offered to release one single and then provide an album of 18 tracks. Below you can listen and download THREE records from his debut album. Please feel free to vibe out, spread and enjoy.
